2013

Wow, like the old saying goes, time does fly!  The holiday season came quick and is coming to an end soon.  While I enjoy the festivities it can get tiresome with a little one, and icing on the cake with all the love he receives from being held and sharing "high-fives" - he's a little down in the dumps and has not been feeling the greatest.  He has been a great sport through it all which makes me proud to be his momma :o)  Lastly, all this love he has got from everyone has also come in the form of gifts, and there are still some unopened under our tree cause he got sick of ripping the paper off! What can you do tho....not complaining, but many toys are in "hiding" for a few months down the road to rotate out.  Hope everyone else has enjoyed their holiday season weather it be Christmas, Hanukkah, or just tis the season a reason to get together with family and made some memories.

Almost half way through....

Hello again!

So this Tuesday is winding to an end very quickly (it’s about 11:40 PM, Wednesday will be here before I would like it to be) and I am enjoying the quietness the late evening brings even though the next work day is right around the corner.  The snow is falling outside (we are getting another 4-8 inches of snow in the next 24 hours!) and can’t help but think what the next few weeks with bring in the height of the holiday season.  We only have one son, however the amount of “stuff” that needs to be brought to each holiday party is unbelievable!  And (no offense to anyone out there without young children) but going to a home that is not baby proof is a lot of work - stairs, cupboards and draws with sharp utensils, toilets that can easily swallow a young child’s find, cleaning supplies that are left on the floors can make for a busy holiday evening.  One think that I have found that works great for me is to bring along my North States Superyard gate/play yard.  I works great to temporarily set up to help “block” certain areas of the room (by grandmas fine china) to lessen that chance of your child wanting to use the teacups for their party.  It folds up and is extremely compact, easy to separate to the amount of panels you need or desire, and you can by extensions to make your gate larger.  I also use mine outside in the summer – it’s plastic and easy to clean – and for my dogs as well to keep them away from certain guests that do not enjoy our furry canines as much.

Welcome!

Hello Everyone,

I would first like to share that I am new to blogging, but spend a lot of time on the Internet looking for deals on products I enjoy using, coupons on everyday items, and really good sales.  I am a mother of one, and as many parents know kids are expensive!  Our family lives with basics (for instance we do not have cable or satellite, we have an antenna mounted on the side of our house :) and splurge on items here and there, but like many, do not like to pay full price!  And it can take time to find some of the deals.  I am hoping to share my fantastic finds that I come across while browsing the Internet and would like to pass on the savings to you!  Along the way I may post articles that I personally feel have valuable money savings tips in them and have worked for me, but please remember that everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another; we can only try.  Bear with me while I start this new adventure, and I hope you enjoy!

Sincerely,

First Time Blogger
